MS390-24UX Current version: Not running configured version, it is operational. (Firmware Upgrades)

Hi guys!

Has anyone here ever had a case like this?

The MS390-24UX switch is not updating, We tried to do a staged upgrade just for this switch, but it didn't work. In addition to taking 1 hour to return to operation after the upgrade attempt, it is showing the message: Not running the configured version.

We updated 10 switches of the same model, on the same network and they are all working normally.

Thank you!

Hi everyone, thanks for everyone's comments.

After 24 hours with the switch showing the message: Not running the configured version. The switch automatically underwent the Reboot (Firmware Upgrade) process and updated to the stable version 16.7. It is operationally working.

We had no intervention from Meraki support.

Again, thank you all very much.

I suggest you open a support case.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Please, if this post was useful, leave your kudos and mark it as solved.

Yep, open a support case for this.

Any number of things could have stopped the upgrade from succeeding and they'll have a better insight from backend logs.

@Cid7 @What firmware versions were you going from and to?  There have been a number of occasions where this is quite likely in the MS390 world.

Hi @Cid7 ,

As the previous posters have said, this would be an ideal situation to open a support case with the Meraki support team so we can review what is going on in the back-end and help.

You can find your Meraki Support number by logging into your dashboard and going to:

Help > Get help > Still need help? > Call the Meraki Support team.

Alternatively, if you don’t have access to your Dashboard network now, you can always navigate to https://meraki.cisco.com/support to find a region-specific support number to call in to.

Hi

I have the same issue. The switch showing the message: "Not running the configured version".

My Meraki Dashboard is shown MS 16.9 (lateset stable). But my MS just update to the 16.8 version.

Hi, currently experiencing the same issue with (19) MS390-48UX2 and (2) MS390-24UX switches. All these switches are operating normally but consistantly display under Firmware (Up to date, Current Version: Not running the configured version). All switches were at firmware 16.8 so I updated the to version 16.9 in hopes of fixing this bug. Nothing has changed with the update. Switches rebooted and seem to running normally. I will be opening a ticket with support.
