MA-SFP-10GB-LRM is compatible with single mode fiber?

Hi team,

I need a tranciever to interconnect MS225 acces switches with MS425 distribution switches at 10G speed on a single mode fiber, not longer than 150meters.

I would like to avoid MA-SFP-10GB-LR due to costs, I've seen in SFP datashhet that MA-SFP-10GB-LRM in compatible with OS1/OS2 SMF fiber at maximum 300m, but I would like to revice any confirmation that this will work, as product description of MA-SFP-10GB-LRM is Meraki 10G Base LRM Multi-Mode.

Is Meraki 10G Base LRM Multi-Mode best option in my case?

Thanks!

Yes it should work. I have also MA-SFP-10GB-LRM between Cisco Cat 3850 distri-switch and Meraki MS225-48LP client-switch running.

Thanks for your answer, do you have it on single mode fiber too? which type of fiber do you have? my concern is about SMF compatibility.

Thanks!

No, sorry. It´s working with Multimode / SR / 50/125

10GBase-LRM (λ1310 nm) is running with multimode OM3 up to 220m

Cisco community says it´s working with singlemode cables:

https://community.cisco.com/t5/switching/sfp-10g-lrm-over-single-mode/td-p/1941968

https://community.cisco.com/t5/optical-networking/10gbase-lrm-with-single-mode-cable/td-p/2190550

And this companys sells the SFP-10G-LRM as working with single mode fibre:

It's in the datasheet so I would assume yes:

Tihs is the official datasheet for every Meraki SFP and SFP+:

You are fine, but when doing things like this also pay attention to the grade of single mode fibre being used.  Single mode fibre has grades like OS1 and OS2.  Multimode fibre has grades like OM1, OM2, OM3 and OM4.
