Is it possible to upgrade C9300 stack in a sequence reboot ?

Hello,

We have 2 x C9300X in stack mode in release CS 17.2.1.1. This stack is connected to esxi with LACP.

Is it possible to update the switch release without any prod impact?

Can I choose the restart order of my stack ?

I found info about MS switch -> HA is not supported because the stack reboot

"with each stack member rebooting close to the same time and the stack then automatically re-forming as the members come online"

https://documentation.meraki.com/Architectures_and_Best_Practices/Cisco_Meraki_Best_Practice_Design/...

No info about upgrade into this page about C9300 :

Thanks

ISSU is not supported on 9300s. It doesn't exist natively so it would never exist on Meraki

There is also no way to reboot an IOSXE based switch stick by individual units for an upgrade. It also doesn't exist natively so it would not be possible on Meraki either.

Thanks for the confirmation.

We are on release CS 17.2.1.1

OK... I will wait for release IO XE 17.18.

Do we need to plan to migrate the C9300X stack from CS to IOS XE firmware ?

Yes, it should be fairly seamless depending on what you have configured now as there are quite a lot of caveats.  For example you need to have a static management IP if you have any L3 routing and port channels might need rebuilding.

I'd wait until it is at least a release candidate, or one of the 17.15 releases becomes stable.  It is getting better pretty quickly.
