Catalyst 9300X-M: VRRP Warm Spare Availability

Hello guys,

Currently, on the Catalyst 9300X-M datasheet we can see the L3 functionality listed as:

- Warm Spare (VRRP) *

*Available in a future software release

Do we have any estimated date for this? I have some upcoming projects that rely on this feature. I’m not sure if you guys, or someone from the Meraki team, could provide something more concrete?

Your Cisco account representative may have more information.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Please, if this post was useful, leave your kudos and mark it as solved.

This is one of the features that's supposed to be in 17.18 which is supposed to be in beta for Meraki very soon.

Apparently, VRRP feature isn’t available yet. It’s a bit messy, natively, the Catalyst 9300 is a more robust switch, capable of running at the distribution layer, as a top-of-rack option, or even at the core. As partners, we’ve been positioning these switches for small and mediumsized customers who don’t have Catalyst Center. But right now, things are somewhat disorganized, and several IOS-XE features are still missing. Let’s hope the software team can accelerate the roadmap.
