Inteface issue to check in meraki

Is there any way to check if there are any hardware interface issue before connecting the end device in Meraki switch models?

Kind of a big deal

Not directly, but here is a document of some things you can check.

After the switch is completely online on the dashboard and if you still have some ports/interfaces that are not working as expected or disconnected even if device is connected, you can open up a support case for further investigation on the switch and RMA can be placed later if needed.

Port level hardware issues are at Layer 1 of OSI layer, and generally speaking, there is a requirement of some sort of flow (either electrical signals for RJ45, or optical signals for fibre cables) to identify such issues.

The only exception I can think of (based on the cases I have worked on) - is where the ports are lit up on the switch even without anything connected to it. This is usually a backend wiring issue that qualifies the switch for RMA. So if you see anything suspicious going on with the switch, kindly raise a support ticket via https://meraki.cisco.com/support/  and we can assist you accordingly
