Catalyst 9300-M Client Data Not Available

Anyone else having an issue with the C9300-M product CDP/LLDP data per client was not available.  Which is kinda the whole point of having a Meraki stack.  Not sure why Cisco would take functionality away just so they can get us all on the Catalyst line.

I have not experienced that issue.

Are you using the C9300-M in the Meraki dashboard?  We've had the same issue with 4 switches and 10+ hours on with support.  If there is something that we are missing, I'd love to hear it.

If you mean the CDP/LLDP from connected devices then I can confirm there are no issues on native IOS-XE version on C9300-M switches.

If you mean that you can't see any hostnames of clients that are connected to a C9300-M switchport then yes that appears to be an issue.  I can see the mac address and the IP.  But the typical hostnames like you can see on native meraki switches is not shown.  So I believe you are referring to missing info on the clients themselves.

I am currently running 17.15.3.1.

I do see in the 17.15.4 release notes that there are two related fixes where one is closest to the issue you are describing:

Resolved an issue that prevented some clients from being correctly displayed on the Network-wide > Clients and Switching > Switch Summary pages

Maybe check this version out.  Do mind that if you are running CS software the change to native ios-xe is impactful and needs plenty of downtime.

Here to help

We have a full Meraki stack and our core switches are 2 stacked C9300.  We have just discovered that several ports do not show the information about the connected client.  That section of the port detail page is empty.

We moved one of the client devices to another port on the same switch, and on this port it shows the IP just fine. We have double and triple checked the configuration on the two ports and they are identical on the dashboard.

In all cases we can ping the connected clients and they are fully operational.  We just can't see the client information on the Meraki dashboard, neither in the Switch Port detail, nor in the Network-wide Clients.
