Trouble in configuring the MQTT broker for receiving events from a camera.

Here is the sample configuration I have done for one of the cameras in my network.

Note: I am using Azure Event grid as MQTT broker in this case.

When we try to test the connection, all the while we are getting an error in  connecting to broker.

Need your assistance in resolving this issue.

Are sure the Host can be reached?

Tested it on my infra, with IP and Name and worked fine.

Try to ping it from Cameras > Network > Tools

Yes. Was able to ping from Cameras > Network > Tools.

But I am unable to test from Settings > Sense > MQTT Broker > Edit MQTT Broker > Test Connection > Selected my camera.

Note: I doubt that port 8883 is not enabled for outbound connectivity. Is there any way for me to enable this on an MV camera from Meraki Dashboard??

Always it says,

Errors connecting to broker

  • Unable to connect to MQTT broker.

Hello @crafter

Hope this issue is resolved for you. Just wanted to point out that the Meraki MV doesn't have any layer 3 firewall functionality therefore it can't allow or block network traffic . If you are suspecting any network IP/Port is blocked in the concern network then that can be verified by analyzing the packet capture taken from a Network switch or firewall upstream to the camera. If the camera is connected to Meraki Switch / Meraki firewall then Meraki Support team can assist you on analyzing the network traffic upon creating a support ticket.

Thank You,
Sabina

Thanks for the response. I will try analyzing the packet capture and will update.
