Is it possible to play games on Dolphin with the original wii sensor bar?

So I have a sensor bar and a wii u, is it possible to use the sensor bar and use it on dolphin? I saw other threads about this but i never got a clear answer on if i can and how i can. Or if i dont need the bar at all? Thanks!
