http/https redirect problem in MX 17.10.2

MX device was upgraded from 16.16 software to 17.10.2

just after upgrade problems began to appear - whenever client was trying to reach http/https resources, and http/https redirect was in place (on server side), client was not able to reach resources. There were no problems with http/https resources, when http/https redirect didn't take place.

After downgrade do 16.16 problem dissapeared.

Has anybody experienced similar problem?

Nothing springs to mind but have you read the realise notes of 17.10.2?

I'm having this issue right now but specific website is being blocked but not blacklisted it's our internal CRM Saas tool and now it takes foever to load. It will load for some users but not all.

I'm at 18.601 and that did not fix the problem it did help but not completely fix it i'm wondering if i should downgrade we were back at 17.10.2

I would try jumping straight to 17.10.4.

Is it happening with all http/https web sites - or just some sites?

Anything in the event log, or under security events?

I will try.

Whenever client was trying to reach http/https resources, and http/https redirect was in place.

For example, client is trying to reach https://www.galeriamokotow.pl/ but is redirected to https://www.westfield.com/poland/mokotow and this is not working. If client is going straight to https://www.westfield.com/poland/mokotow  it is working well.

Admins were not looking at logs, just rolled back to 16.16.

I curious if someone has seen that kind of problem. I didn't find anything similar in release notes.

Hi Philip. I have the same issue reported by one of my customer but only with a old MX100.

other clients with MX250 and also running v17.10.4 seems not impacted.

I'm currently onsite of the disturbed client, and I faced the issue by typing maps.google.com in my Edge browser, and notice the small i icon in the bar mentionning this site is not secured since not https.

I just add https in the url, then it works, and when I retry typing without https, then the redirect appears automatically (like in browser cache).

but indeed in v16 of MX100, it was never the case! What happened ?

is there a bug opened on Cisco Meraki for this ?

Looks like a bug was known and is only solved since the latest v18.107

here extract of release notes:

  • Fixed an issue that resulted in wireless clients experiencing degraded performance for HTTP and HTTPS traffic when content filtering was enabled

I'm afraid now if I should go for this very last version (12 april) and not Stable, or should I fallback to v16...

Anybody wants to try before me ;-)?

Finally no need to apply v18.x

By coincidence just this last Friday 21st of April, MERAKI did publish a patch for v17.10 (now .5)

with inside the exact bug fix !

I did apply and everything is working back now 🙂

Hi, upgraded our MX's to 17.10.5 but still we are facing the issues. This is impacting while accessing Microsoft related sites only, Web Cache is also in disabled state. Any leads to fix this issue please.
