Z3 EoL announcement

And so it happened.

Z3 and Z3C announced EoS.

 

Direct replacement will be Z4.

Hello,

Cisco Meraki is announcing the end-of-sale for the following products, in accordance with our End-of-Sale (EOS) Policy for Meraki cloud managed networking products. The [Z3-HW, and Z3C-HW-NA] have been replaced with the following products, which are functionally equivalent:

 

End-of-Sale ModelReplacement Model
Z3-HWZ4-HW
Z3C-HW-NAZ4C-HW

 

 

 

 

 

We expect to be accepting final orders for this product through September 4, 2024. However, the final date will depend on the availability of stock and, at Cisco Meraki's discretion, the actual end-of-sale date may be earlier than September 4, 2024. End-of-Support date for this product will be September 4, 2029.

Z3 was announced in 2017 so 7 years it's pretty good run. The Z4 does support AMP whereas the Z3 doesn't, it can also handle three times the devices.

Also end of support is  Sep 4, 2029 which still gives people a lot of time to replace the hardware. I just hope they really support it to that date. Unlike with devices that won't support MX 18.2XX++ but are not at the end of support

But honestly, I think there's a huge missed opportunity with it not supporting 5G. It's still only a 4G device.
