Upgrade MX appliance

Hi All,

Can someone point me in the right direction?

If a MX84 currently in use and it is being upgraded to a MX85, what are the options when it comes to licensing?

The MX84 license is now useless but is there any additional time to be gained from it when adding the MX85?

What's the typical practise in this scenario to maximize license duration?

Thanks!

As far as I'm aware it applies to upgrades as well, outside of RMA so I'd definitely give it a go and please report back here 👍

I'd possibly get in touch with my Sales rep to have that one solved in a non-technical way. At least I don't think there's another one.

There is a standard MX84-85 upgrade, don't worry.

Contact support and they will fix it for you.

Interesting, thanks. Do you know if this is documented somewhere?

If you go here you can see the supported options: https://documentation.meraki.com/General_Administration/Licensing/Meraki_Co-Termination_Licensing_Ov...

You are in luck

Thanks. I didn't realize that was updated but I thought this was only applicable to RMAs?
