Trying to boot MX64 into Diagnostic mode

I have a MX64 that I'm trying to boot into diagnostic mode by holding reset down while powering up. The light will never turn to a blinking white to signal that. The light has turned purple, but I haven't been able to find anything to explain what the purple light would mean.

You have connected the mx internet port to the internet?

Then it should upgrade firmware when you added it to a meraki dashboard network.
