Speedtest results

Hello,

I have a MX84 which we have just had our leased line upgraded to symmetrical 500MB, speedtest we're getting 250MB, so i got the ISP to come on site to run tests, connecting his laptop direct into the circuit. After a while they removed restrictions and had to boost the line to get the 500MB speed. We then reconnected the MX and did a speed test which still is 250MB speed.

we have S2S tunnels which I know can have an impact on speed but i would expect to still be hitting over 400MB.

I also know AMP can affect speeds but still shouldn't be this low.

All ideas, solutions will be greatly appreciated.

Regards, Ash

is you traffic shaping set to the max at the uplink configuration?

or do you have any other traffic shaping settings  f.e. per client?

are you running vpn full or split tunnel?

how do you test the speed?

I have traffic shaping rule for onedrive - ignore network per client.

uplink is maximum.

Tunnel is hub to my other 2 sites which both have MX firewalls. (1 is mx64w and the other is MX84).

Speed test, i use my ISP web gui.

Can you try a speed test from the mx live tools.

Can you whitelist the client from where you do the speed test. Wait a few minutens. And then do a speedtest again

1)go to mx, tools> Dashboard throughput > run

what speed there?

2)the server you test from is whitelisted in the dashboard client page? then you still have 250Mbps?

Is your speed test egressing locally or going over the tunnel to an exit node? Any proxy server settings in the browser?

Locally.

No proxy

Are you running the speedtest from a wired machine?

Are you sure under Security & SD-WAN/SD-WAN and Traffic shaping you have the uplink configure to maximum?

I removed the traffic shape rule, but still low speed test.

The server is wired into the MX.
