SFP & SFP+
We are procuring an MX105 that supports SFP+. Do we need to purchase SFP+ modules, or will our current SFP modules still work(Were working on our MX85)?

@Riser the SFP+ ports on the Meraki MXs do work with SFP modules and all Meraki ones of both are supported. We use Cisco SFPs in the SFP+ WAN ports of our MX250s without issue.

SFP+ ports often accept SFP optics but at a reduced speed of 1Gbps. But I'm not 100% sure.
Please, if this post was useful, leave your kudos and mark it as solved.

SFP+ ports usually are backwards compatible with SFP modules.
I haven't seen any instance where it was not supported yet.

Thank you for this. I thought so too but wasn't quite sure.

If we actually purchase the MX105 with the SFP+ Modules, will that work with our current 1GB connection ?

Generally not. 10Gb fibre SFP+ modules usually only work at 10Gb speed.

Just don't expect an SFP+ module to work in a standard SFP port.
