Replacing a Firewall 100 to 250

I am getting ready to replace an MX 100 for a 250. I know normal meraki is just unclaim the 1 device, claim device 2 and poof meraki works.

Just for clarification, if I do the above with different hardware will the DHCP and vLans transfer over? I know the WAN port will need to get the DHCP from the ISP which they have assigned to the MAC (I know I will have to call them).

Just want to make sure the meraki will be start enough to know its still an MX just better!

Thanks!

Kind of a big deal

It's actually not the claiming that is important. It's removing from and assigning to the network that does the trick. But yes, those are the basic steps.

It's fully described here:

Static DHCP reservations will be maintained.

I don't think that dynamic DHCP will be.  Expect that to be lost.

Something that catches a lot of people out is the MS250 only has 10Gbe SFP+ ports.  So if you want to plug in a copper circuit make sure you get a copper SFP.
