PPPOE on MX84 WARM SPARE SETUP

Hi Guys,

Have you tried configuring warmspare of MX84 that terminate PPPOE credentials directly to the ISP modem?

I was thinking right now how to do it, do i need to connect both 2 units MX84 to lan port of the modem router?

need your advise.

Thanks in advance.

how many ip' s you get from the ISP? does the ISP allow this?

i think you need a router before your mx setup.

Or as @ww  says,  use an extra PPPoE router with a 4 port LAN switch and plug both MX into that.

PPPoE is a point to point protocol. You'll only be able to plug it into a single MX at a time.

You'll either need a second PPPoE circuit for the spare or a different type of Internet circuit which is not point to point.

yes maybe i will just use the lan port of the modem, and by the time that the first mx84 fails the second mx84 will take over on the synchronization of pppoe.
