Hi all,
On all our locations we are experiencing Office365 performance issues. Mostly related to Exchange Online (Outlook performance slow or hangs).
Microsoft recommends theTCP Idle timer to be set at reasonably higher values (https://docs.microsoft.com/nl-nl/archive/blogs/onthewire/network-perimeters-tcp-idle-session-setting...).
Is there a way te configure these timers in the MX'es we have?
Thanks!

Looking at the document provided (from 04-03-2014) the issue has long gone?!
"*Update . This issue no longer occurs now we've switched to MAPI/HTTPS for every client/server connection aside from Outlook 2007. RPC/HTTPS which is what was causing this problem is being put out to pasture in October 2017. https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/3201590/rpc-over-http-deprecated-in-office-365-on-october-3..."
Hi Etienne,
we just had recently exact the problem with a customer and the TCP Idle Timer. Unfortunately it was a really annoying situation for the customer. Microsoft writes it is solved...but it is not..or maybe not in all cases.
Anyway...the default TCP Idle Timer of the MX is 300 seconds (5min).
Via a support case you can change it to either 3600 or better 7200 seconds. Which is 60 min or 120 min.
It helped in our case and the customer is happy again.
hope it helps

Hi Roger,
Our serviceprovider just changed the TCP Idle Timer to 3600 seconds. See if this helps....
Thanks for your response!
Best regards,
Etienne
Hi Etienne,
I am interested in your feedback...but i guess as you still have the 300 seconds on the MX,
it maid still persist.
Anyway would be nice if you could follow up on this here.
