Mx not saving public ip configuration

When I try to configure a static public IP on a new MX. I enter the values, but it doesn’t save. It just reverts back to DHCP

Double check if you set the correct ip settings. Maybe try connect the router to a laptop with the ip settings to confirm that works

"If the MX is not able to reach the default gateway on this static assignment, it will fall back to DHCP"

i've already tried this many times, including resetting the device and changing the browser.

If you set the same static settings on a PC connected to the internet link, does it work and can it reach the Meraki cloud?

Have you tried a factory reset?

Are you talking about a WAN interface configuration?

When you specify a static configuration on an already working MX, the MX will try it out, and if it loses Internet access then it reverts the change.

You could try configuring the static IP via the local status page.  That should stay on a static configuration then.

Yes about the wan configuration...did a static configuration using a local status page not saving

I have had some issues like this on projects. what I would recommended:
unplug all cables from the MX.
do a hard reset - hold reset button for a good 10-15 seconds
connect to the MX local status page and configure WAN IP details (confirm they are correct)
reboot the MX and locally connect and confirm the WAN details are still 'saved'
then try connect again
