Multiple Subnets!

Hello,

Can we assign secondary subnets on an interface like we do in cisco? Is it possible in Mx?

Kind of a big deal

You can create multiple subnets on an MX, then permit the associated vlans on a trunked switchport. Add L3 firewall rules if you need to segregate subnets.

Getting noticed

Go to Security>>Addressing and VLANs>> select use vlans check box then add your subnets.
below that is the per port vlan settings for the MX and for switches, assign subnets to individual ports

I think the TS means, multiple subnets in the same vlan.

yes you are wright. Like we do in cisco router e.g.

interface 0/1

ip address 192.168.0.1 255.255.255.0

ip address 192.168.10.1 255.255.255.0 secondary

Secondary IPs are not available on Meraki.

(and would not be recommended anyway)

Correct, it is not something that can be done with Meraki but more importantly its not something you really want to do.

I've had to do it in the past when I was a scrub because my hands were tied and the design wasn't implemented correctly, but otherwise I would advice against.

Well...thinking about better solutions would be advisable then. 😇
