The simple answer is no from an overall feature standpoint. The Fortigate is a more traditional firewall and has many more exposed features for policies, vpns, etc. It depends on your use cases. I suggest talking to your Cisco Rep/partner. There is info available under NDA for some competitive scenarios and the sales engineers are more fully informed in general on these sorts of situations.

Some of us may be able to answer basic questions but this is best suited to someone whom you can give details about your existing environment and future needs.

Take a look at this.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Please, if this post was useful, leave your kudos and mark it as solved.

Yup I reached out as well but nothing better than real world engineers working it to give you the best answers. Thanks.

Fortigate is a Firewall, Meraki MX is a SDWAN with some firewall functionality.

Fortigates have a really bad time being central managed and require FortiManager to perform this functionality which is a pain in the ass to setup with Forigates, Meraki MXs it's all done via Merkai Dashboard and setup from the get go with no addtional license or software required.

Fortigate wins in the DC for firewalling. Meraki for SDWAN overlay 🙂
