MX vs. Fortigate

Hi Meraki Community

i am a newbie on the Meraki firewall as well as firewalls in general 🙂

can anyone give me 5 advantages on Meraki MX over the Fortigate firewalls.

I am getting quite a few queries on the above question from my suppliers.

I am trying to move the Fortigate guys over to Meraki.

your input will be greatly appreciated.

kind regards

Francis

Kind of a big deal

Meraki

  • Easier to manage under one pane of glass
  • Very easy to configure
  • Very easy to implement
  • Simple to Manage

Fortinet

  • Good for setup that have multiple internet lines
  • Advanced routing
  • Easy to use and performs efficiently
  • Good VPN client

Hi @Francis

Are you a Meraki partner? Do you have access to merakipartners.com ?

You can get sales and tech information from there if you are. If not you can contact your Meraki sales rep who can help.

Do you know what Fortigate you are up against?

Key areas you should highlight

- Meraki Dashboard.

- Ease of use

- Support Level

- Visibility

- Cloud managed vs on device

If you can give some more info on your use case I can try to be more specific for you 🙂

Hi @Nick

Thank you for your input.

Yes, i am a Meraki partner and have access to Merakipartners.com

I just thought it would be a bit easier get info from Meraki partners. they have the most experience.

There is no specific model as such as my re sellers just ask the question in general.

I would think that auto fail-over including 2 WAN ports is a plus on Meraki

Meraki can view any Meraki switch and firewall from one central point being Meraki Dashboard.

Thank you
