I did read this elsewhere but it was an old post and wanted to confirm if it is still the case.
We have an install of an MX250 coming up and currently the WAN is presented via fibre. They are also doing an ISP swap over and a few days after the MX250 is in they will be changing this and it will then be presented by copper.
Are the copper ports on the MX250 configurable as WAN or is it still the case that we will need the SFP to copper transceiver?
Cheers
You need sfp
All of the copper ports on the MX250 are LAN ports, you cannot use them for WAN. You will need copper SFP's in the WAN ports.
I thought as much thanks guys.
I know the Meraki's arent too fussy about SFP's so would a Cisco GLC-T work in your opinions?
That is a known working SFP for MX250
@innyinskipwe have been using Cisco GLC-Ts for the WAN in our MX250s for over a year with no issues
