Firmware Catagories

For many years and with many vendors I've become used to seeing categories like internal release, alpha, beta, release candidate, and stable. what is confusing to me is the introduction of "other available versions". I'm not sure if these releases fall under beta or RC as they are released at a rapid pace and the known issue lists are rather large. I'm not saying it's a bad idea I am looking for clarification of this category as I look at my environment.

  • Other available versions consist of Maintenance versions and/or hotfix versions. Refer to Meraki Firmware Conventions for more details on different types of firmware versions and their nomenclature.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.
