Ethernet port carrier change device: port0, carrier: false

Hello.

I have an MX64 connected to an MS220-8P.

LAN port 4 on MX64 is connected to LAN port 8 on the MS.

about 20m apart.

Every day or so i get the message in the Subject field in the event log for the MX. Nothing in the event log for the MS.

The switch goes off-line.

I unplug the patch lead on the MX and reboot the MS, and can get the switch back online again.

Spanning tree is turned off. simple network.

I set both ports to "100 Megabit full duplex (forced)" thinking it might be the auto-negotiation causing this.

Still happens.

Anyone got any ideas?

thank you!

It looks like a physical issue. Try exchanging the cable.
