I'm curious - has anyone actually been able to attend the ECMS2 training? I have never heard a single reply to my multitude of requests for a seat since the training was announced.
While the course is free I have a much better chance of justifying the trip to my company. Once Cisco puts the typical $2,000+ price tag on the course my opportunity to attend disappears like a fart in the wind.
I have even had our sales rep who sold us our shiny new Meraki infrastructure get in-touch with his contacts at Meraki, and still nothing but crickets.
Does the training actually exist, or is it a unicorn at this point, only available to a privileged lucky few?
I have attended, but it is very difficult to get into. My classmates were primarily Cisco sales engineers, large Meraki partners, and mostly otherwise people from companies with millions of USD in Meraki gear. Some of whom surprised me... I had no idea those companies used Meraki!
There were also only 10-12 students. When they say seating is limited, they mean it. We had two trainers in a room for 3 days of training, plus however much time setup/breakdown takes them.
I hear you that it's frustrating, But it's largely a matter of resources. Meraki's training division is only so large, and ECMS2 is just one of the things that they do.
@Twitch You could possibly demo so that you can get familiar with the products. That way you can get a general understanding and also look a lot at the webinars as they help with getting to know features as well. Hope it helps. I went to the training as well with @Nash and she makes a point where classmates were " Cisco sales engineers, large Meraki partners, and mostly otherwise people from companies with millions of USD in Meraki gear."
Don't need the demo. We have a large Meraki production environment that runs all of our plants across several states.
Thanks for the responses, folks! I appreciate it.
I'm with You there @Twitch ..
As I read it, the ECMS2 is last part if a set of education courses with tests and all .,.
I too would like to finish what I start, and have not seen one single announcement for this Course.
As to the education team is limited and only can do so much, it somewhat collides with the facts from this thread with "multi-million$ installations" and all ..
I would also like to hear some official viewpoints from Meraki on this ..
With highest regards
Thanks for your feedback! We’re happy to say that ECMS2 is still very much alive, but does still have limited capacity. We are currently pursuing other delivery mechanisms that will allow us to scale the program and make it more widely available. We will post to the Learning Hub when those offerings are available. Thanks for your patience.
just sitting in on training since 3 Days. there are Online now. go to www.merakipartner.com
or ask a meraki SE to help you out.
@MichelRueger I have heard no word about sessions ?
Please share the link and the Meraki SE ?
(the link You provide here is not active)
Guys & Gils
You will see there are actually a number of threads within the community with regards to this course and everyone is seeing and having the same frustration.
I am also trying to get on this course and very keen to attend before November as the courses are currently on-line with virtual labs and training, which for me is very attractive as I would not have to travel.
I'm happy to say that we have been expanding the ECMS2 availability since the start of this pandemic. Some things that I wanted to share with all of you:
I'm very impressed with the enthusiasm and drive, the guys doing the ECMS2 last week pulled off !!
I can only recommend All of You other enthusiasts to grab hold of Your Cisco AM to enroll in a virtual session !!
Loads of great stuff to pick off ..
1) Is there a test / certification to take after completing the ECMS1+2 ?
2) When will my ECMS2 badge appear to brag with ? 😉
With highest regards
Hi @Thygesen , I'm really glad you liked your ECMS2 session 😀 My colleagues Rafael and David are great instructors!
1) Yes there's an official certification now called CMSS (you can check more info clicking the link on my signature) that you can have after taking a ECMS exam with Pearson Vue, ECMS1 and 2 are preparation for that so after participating on both you should have everything you need to study for this exam 👍
2) As you just attended the ECMS2 session last week, I think you'll receive something through e-mail on the next couple of days
@Thygesen you can start bragging now!
I was finally able to get a seat in ECMS1, and the seat in ECMS2 will follow shortly thereafter. I'm looking forward to it very much!! Don't give up trying if you're still waiting for a seat. It's taken me about a year, but finally, I have a Golden Ticket. 🤣
Also, I found this on the Cisco Learning Network. Apparently the ECMS1 and ECMS2 courses are available for a fee. If I'm late to the game here and everyone already knows about this, I apologize. It's new to me, so I figured I would share just-in-case:
The prices aren't "break the bank" either, which is great.
After much waiting, I finally managed to get a seat in ECMS 2 for a May training session. Can't wait. Many, many thanks to our Meraki sales rep for getting me an invite to register. I received confirmation of my seat today.
