WAN Port MX250

Hi!

My both ISPs handover RJ45 for my uplink. I noticed that MX250 have both WAN as SFP. Can I use ethernet port as my WAN Port for both ISPs? So that I don't need to purchase SFPs.

This is because my current Fortigate use RJ45 also for WAN. Hence, I aspect to use the same at my MX250.

Thank you in advances!

As the datasheet explains, the MX250 features 2x SFP+ / 10 Gigabit ports for WAN Uplink.

You must use/purchase a Copper SFP module if you have an Ethernet handoff from your ISP, such as a MA-SFP-1GB-TX

Thank you for your response. However, there are 8 ethernet port at MX250, can I use 2 out of these ports as my WAN Port and the rest to my access switches?

Unfortunately not, the functionality of the port cannot be changed (i.e. cannot switch ports between WAN/LAN).

You need to purchase SFPs.  The part number you need is MA-SFP-1GB-TX.
