Frequent fiber optic disconnections

I'm a new meraki user and field/help desk tech. I'm still learning networking, but I like tackling challenging problems.

I have frequent fiber outages from the mdf to an idf. The downtimes don't happen all the time, just like once or twice a week and for about 3 hours before it comes back up on its own. It goes out around the same time when it happens, either from 1pm-4pm or from 3pm-6pm. So far, I've changed the duplex fiber connector cables and sfps at the idf swich with no luck. The light on the switch port stays off during outages.

I didn't set up anything in the portal, and haven't used meraki before, so my main question is, where do I go on meraki to start digging into this and possibly finding what could be the issue?

Getting noticed

Hi ,

Please go to any switch look for event log. Are you in prcocess of deploying new network set up ? Please do the packet capture on uplink interface of uplink switch.

There might be chances of STP issue.

Kind of a big deal

Is it just the link going down or the whole switch? Make port scheduling isn't enabled on the port.

Good job swapping the cables/optics. They normally cause a lot of CRC issues, but not outages like you are seeing. As was asked is it just the port or the entire switch? If you know the times maybe run a packet capture before it goes down to see what kind of traffic is coming in. Also if it is just a single port going down try plugging into another port.
