My work had 10 ipads stolen that thankfully are registered in DEP and setup on Meraki. I have set these to have a very locked down profile which pretty much bricks the devices i.e. cannot use camera, bluetooth, any apps. Cannot erase the device or change any settings.
I am tempted to have a bright red wallpaper which says the device is stolen.
I'd be interested to know what others have done in the past when this has happened.
What about using lost mode?
I see their is a whole article about stolen devices.
@BlakeRichardson - One of our customers recently shared a story on a webinar about a similar situation. In his case, he tracked the device location and directed the police to a bar where the device was reporting from. Once the police were inside, he turned on Lost Mode and the "Play a Sound" option once Lost Mode was enabled. Case closed! 🙂

The story is shared at about 23:00 on this recording:

Thanks for all of the feedback, I've added in an alert and other bits and pieces. I am not holding my breath but will see what happens.
obviously do the recommended Lost mode, but if it was me i would also change the Lock/homescreen to a Mission Impossible Meme saying this device will self destruct in 10 seconds
