SM Agent 4.2 MDM Installation

Hello! I noticed that the new SM Agent (4.2) cannot be installed via CMD. Is there a way to get for example, Kandji, to silently install the new SM Agent while passing the enrollment string as an argument? This is strictly for MacOS.

Getting noticed

I'm unfamiliar with Kandji specifically. I know if you use SM for profile enrollment, you can just deploy the agent from Systems Manager > Manage > Apps and install it that way.

Assuming you don't use SM for profile enrollment, a workaround COULD be installing an older version (< v3.5+) and do an upgrade afterwards. One consideration doing it this way is that v3.1.4 and older require Rosetta 2 to be installed for Apple Silicon.

Tough position, I hope it gets worked out.

As a note: if you're already using another MDM service, it might be time to fully swap away from Systems Manager.

Hi Farez, at this time it's unfortunately not possible to install the macOS agent via command line - KB Article Reference.
