Not installed apps shown as missing, expected?

I'm not sure if this is actually an issue or me being just triggered by red 😀

We have recently started managing ios devices and have added a number of apps to our Meraki MDM. Many of the free ones that lots of people use like google maps we have scoped to all devices, but we don't have auto install checked for them. This is so if the user wants them, they can get them from the SSP or even through the System Manager app.

I notice when we look at a device, under the Management it will show

The 8 apps missing are all the apps scoped to that device, not not set to autoinstall. Is this how it should be? Should we be making apps generally available in some other manner ? For some reason the term 'missing' in red makes me think there's something wrong that needs resolved. Like if an app was set to autoinstall but didn't for some reason, i would expect it to list that as 'missing'.

If this is normal and the best way to do stuff I'll just learn to ignore it

I think that is normal.  Nothing to worry about.
