MDM is removing Outlook from devices and won't stop

Hello,

So this started last week. We had some issues a little while back and all the mobile devices have to be reset and re-enrolled. This is going fine and the fixed devices installed and configured all apps including Outlook correctly. Then at some point last week, the devices started removing and re-adding Outlook seemingly at random.

Now, several devices are just refusing to install it now. It shows a status of NotNow in the log on some of them when attemtping reinstall. Some will show it the install as successful but when you look at the app list for the device Outlook is listed as Version 0 with 20kb size and the status there will say Installing but never finishes.

Any ideas where to start with this? We took over this client not that long ago so I'm still learning all the details of the setup.

I've found that outlook refuses to install on iOS unless it's on a WiFi network due it it's large size. Have you confirmed that the devices are connected to WiFi? Otherwise, the user can long press on the app and select download anyway.

Attempting to update maybe?

Thanks for replying. I installed them all originally on wifi but these are plant workers so if they are offsite on not in a building then they could be refusing it due to being cellular only at the time.

The update thing I'm not sure about because it is installing the newest version so not sure why it would need to update.

The removal commands seem to come after the App Refresh in the Activity Log.

How are these devices getting Outlook delivered - is it manual or using user/device tags? Can your VPP account still shows up in Systems Manager > VPP and you aren't overprovisioned on licenses for outlook?

If they are receiving a remove command it sounds like there is an issue with the scope. Have you opened a support ticket?
