Ivanti

Has anyone had experience with Ivanti? We got a quote from them to switch over to their MDM and it's really expensive. Additionally, they seemed out of touch with Educational Tech needs, and terms. Are they more business forward, and just getting into the education tech area?

Sorry, we do not have any experience with Ivanti. Do you have only Apple Devices or also Android? There is other, cheaper alternatives to ivanti.

Can you disclose the quote? What's the price difference going from Meraki to Ivanti? We are facing the same dilemma...

We have a quote from JAMF too, and entertaining other vendors too. JAMF is way less expensive. We're looking at Mosyle next. Just iPads right now.

AFAIK Mosyle even offers a full-fledged premium version for free for up to 30 devices. I also wanted to recommend you JAMF too. They are of course a very well-known a popular solution, but support only Apple Devices. So it's not the right solution for everyone but should suit you.

Can you tell us anything on pricing? How much did you pay for Meraki per Device and how much was the Ivanti quote?

Ivanti was about 24 per device and Meraki was 28. Meraki is dropping their MDM solution though. JAMF has pricing that is around the 5 to 10 dollar range per device.

Well, if JAMF has the right feature-set and can check every box you need, it's hard to find anything cheaper. Citrix Endpoint Management (formerly XenMobile) could also be an option, especially if you use other Citrix Services and already have a Universal Hybrid Multi-Cloud license from them. If so, you get their CEM in the license included.

Thank you. We're leaning towards JAMF at the moment.

If you don’t get that initial gut feeling then you know it’s not right for you.  If they do t understand the edu market or they’re missing the mark it’s the wrong product.

I'm not an employee of Cisco/Meraki. My posts are based on Meraki best practice and what has worked for me in the field.

This is not sponsored in any way but Jamf is a really good product, so good that even Apple themselves use it internally. It also works really well with Apple classroom.
