Agent having trouble upgrading from 3.0.x to 3.7.x

I have a Windows Endpoint where the current Agent firmware version is 3.0.2.  It has been offline for several months and is not coming back online regularly.  My EDR sensor is seeing a lot of process creates from m_agent_upgrade.exe .  Agent version isn't being upgraded.  The minimum network version I can set to is 3.7.x.

I am looking for confirmation that I this agent won't be able to upgrade based on how old it is and the new target version.   I am thinking I need to attempt to redeploy with a newer agent version.

This banned has been showing in my dashboard for some time. 3.0.2 is quite old and my guess is it's stuck with no upgrade path. Can you manually upgrade it?

What operating system versions will be supported by the updated versions of the agent?

Windows agent versions

  • 3.5.x - 3.7.x are supported on all versions of Windows 10+ and Windows 11+
  • 4.0 is supported on Windows 10 21H1+ and Windows 11+

I *think* I have a pathway to manually upgrade the agent.  Does anyone know what happens when a newer agent is deployed to a machine with an older agent installed and running? Overwrite or install side-by-side?

I think it might be side by side, I've seen devices have two different applications for Meraki systems manager in Control panel > Programs & features.

Support would be able to confirm for sure.
