With the release of Cloud Native IOS-XE 17.15.3, we are beginning an exciting transition from a container-based architecture to one based on native IOS XE with support for Meraki cloud management. Cloud Management for Catalyst switches offers flexibility of choosing the configuration source: Cloud or Device.
we are excited to announce that both Cloud and Device configuration options are now demo-ready on Meraki Launchpad🚀 demo platform.
We've upgraded all supported switches in the Sao Paulo - Cloud Campus Fabric network, enabling you to showcase these latest Cisco innovations live.

🖥️Configuration source: Device (formerly known as hybrid operating mode)
As of the time of this post, device configuration for Cisco Catalyst 9200 and 9300 series switches is in public beta. This mode replaces Cloud Monitoring for Catalyst as the Meraki Dashboard-based solution for connecting Catalyst switches, offering key enhancements such as :
- A seamless, native switch onboarding experience through the Dashboard.
- An interactive Cloud CLI that provides full CLI console allowing configuration changes directly from the Dashboard.
Click 👉Cloud Management with Device Configuration Source👈 to walk through the streamlined onboarding experience and the Cloud CLI in configuration mode.

☁️Configuration source: Cloud
In this mode, configurations are managed via the dashboard and delivered entirely from the cloud. This capability also offers a read-only Cloud CLI terminal you can use to view the entire running-configuration or perform advanced troubleshooting using IOS XE show commands.
