Cyber Defense Fact Sheet

Hi Everyone,

Was hoping to start a thread on general best practices specifically for Meraki devices in regards to President Biden's call for private companies to increase their cyber defense focus. The list of best practices was put out and I've got the link here:

https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2022/03/21/fact-sheet-act-now-to-protec...

How are you implementing these defenses with your Meraki devices?

Cyber security shouldn't wait for a politician to emphasise it, this is something that should always be on any IT specialists mind.

Most governments have a cyber security agency and there is plenty of good websites that provide info on current issues.

www.cert.govt.nz  ( NZ Govt agency)

cyber.gov.au ( Aust govt agency)

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/msrc/cdoc  (Microsoft cyber defence operations)

https://www.ncsc.gov.uk ( UK govt agency)

Most vendors have security bulletins that you can sign up for for regular emails, the problem with these can be finding time to read them if they are very detailed.

My organisation undertakes independent security testing every two years and we do an internal audit every two years as well.
