API show different 'stable' versions than what Meraki Dashboard shows

Hello,

Hope you can help me with this issue:

It seems that the Meraki API returns a different version as stable than what the Meraki Dashboard shows. For instance, our MX's run 18.211.6. When we check the API for stable versions for the MX, i see te following result:

[{'id': '5525', 'firmware': 'wired-18-2-11', 'releaseType': 'stable', 'releaseDate': '2025-06-02T21:34:36Z', 'shortName': 'MX 18.211.6'}, {'id': '5874', 'firmware': 'wired-19-1-9', 'releaseType': 'stable', 'releaseDate': '2025-07-07T20:51:02Z', 'shortName': 'MX 19.1.9'}]

But Meraki Dashboard shows 19.1.9 (as returned by the API) as "other version", not stable or even release candidate.

Is this an error in the API, or Meraki Dashboard or maybe even in my script? (Or something completely different?)

Best regards,

Marcus.

19.1.9 is stable, we seem to have 2 stable versions currently. Not sure why it's listed in the other section in the GUI. If you go through the GUI to schedule an upgrade you will see both versions labelled as latest stable:

Hello Jimmyt234,

Thanks for your quick response. I can see that this version is listed as available, but i don't agree it is labeled as 'stable'. For instance, the release notes, executive summary mentions:  "(...) we are anticipating promoting MX 19.1 to Stable in the coming weeks." does not feel stable to me just yet..

Would you agree?

Best regards,

Marcus

I agree that the labelling/messaging is poor on this one.

If you see the Firmware Upgrades feed a couple weeks ago it was released as stable: https://community.meraki.com/t5/Firmware-Upgrades-Feed/A-new-stable-appliance-firmware-is-now-availa...
