My MX68CW is not providing the throughput that is being provided by my ISP

I am receiving approximately 500 mbps from my ISP, but my MX68CW is only providing about 200 mbps.  I have switched cables and have searched my Dashboard for possible configuration changes and can not understand why I am not getting the bandwidth on my network that my ISP is providing.  Any configuration changes that I need to make?

What speed do you see using mx tools > dashboard throughput ?

Do you get 500Mb when you connect the client on the isp router ?

You using autovpn with a default route?

Any shaping configured?

is IDS/IPS enabled?

MX Uplink Settings configured to your ISP limits?

Global Bandwidth Limit Considerations does your MX have global per user limit set that might be restricting the full 500mbps throughput?

What speed are you seeing?

What firmware are you running, the newest ones included a speed boost for the MX67/68.

We are experiencing same. We have gig/gig fiber on an MX250. No setting out of the ordinary, running amp.

We get ±900 down, but only 200up. I have adjusted AMP settings but no change.

Running 18.211.2

Nice, thank you.  Still looks like it's beta?

Ours says it is running latest firmware.

18.211.4 is a patch to the stable. Using the firmware upgrade page you can select your MX and then in the dropdown choose 18.211.4.

MX 18.211.4 still shows available for me, however 19.1.6 might be a better option (stable RC)

You are the man! I never knew about this feature. Upgrading tonight.  This really gives you insight on things coming in the pipeline.

I do have the correct speed settings in the SD-WAN & traffic settings menu.

Thank you again.

Thank you, Ryan. As I wrote to RWelch, I did not know about this feature.

I really appreciate you pointing this out. I think you got the reply in first!!!..lol

Really appreciate your help!

Hi,

It sounds like you're not getting the full bandwidth from your ISP due to a few potential factors. First, check that your WAN port on the MX68CW is correctly configured for the speed your ISP is providing. Ensure that you're using the correct port (typically the primary WAN port) and that it’s set to the right speed in the Dashboard.

Additionally, verify that you're using a high-quality Ethernet cable that supports gigabit speeds. If you're using a cable rated for lower speeds, that could be limiting your throughput. Also, check if there are any traffic shaping or QoS settings in your Dashboard that might be limiting bandwidth. Lastly, consider running speed tests directly from the MX68CW to rule out any device-specific limitations and ensure the throughput issue is isolated to the MX68CW.

I bet you have uplink shaping enabled.

I do. It is set at 1gig/1gig. Speed is worse today after firmware to 211.4. Now only getting 500/200. I am only one in the office this morning.  It is on primary WAN. 20-foot Cat6 from Verizon DMARC to MX250. I have lowered IDP/AMPsettings to see if that had any effect, it did not.  Throughput on dashboard says 800, but is that both ways? Tests from Verizon say 800/600. No one is complaining about speed but just trying to stay on top of things. Like many of you, I am a 1-man department managing over 100 Meraki devices......lol

Thank you everyone, have a great day.

What are you using to measure the 500/200 speed?

Is the speed better after the MX has had a reboot?
