Illegal characters in port names

Can we please have the same characters allowed in the Meraki dashboard as are allowed in IOS-XE?

In IOS-XE the semicolon is accepted and is often used as a delimiter for monitoring systems to separate out data elements, but it is not allowed in Meraki so the port names just appear as unlabelled. If you try to configure a cloud configured switch with a semicolon this message appears:

Do we know what common punctuation characters are allowed, what with semicolon not being one?

This is a tricky area!  For example, a common SQL injection attack is to use a string like:

; select * from users

That semi-colon is the key to the attack.

Does the dashboard still complain with a device managed switch?

I think we do the same with semicolons on non-Meraki or switches not in Meraki Dashboard, but perhaps this would be a better fit for using tags?

With a switch that is not cloud configured, the port names simply show as blank in the Meraki dashboard...
