I lost access to the dashboard

Good evening.

Does anyone know how can I recover the access to my dashboard if the 2FA is activate and I can't configure the DUO app???

I already had access but I tried to reconfigure the DUO from scratch because I had the issue that DUO don't remember the devices for 30 days.

But now I can't access to my dashboard because when I started the DUO APP this only shows me the welcome screen, and when I try to login in the dashboard this asks me for my code.

Do you happen to have the backup codes?  When you get the 2FA prompt, look for an option such as “Use a different authentication method” or “Send SMS code”.

If that doesn't work, another Meraki Dashboard admin from the same organization can reset your 2FA.

Contact Cisco Meraki Support: If you have no other way to access the dashboard, you can submit a support case through this form.

Note: Dashboard organizations should always have at least two organization admins with full permissions. This is best practice in case one account is locked out or if access to that account's email address is lost.

When you set up MFA, didn't you save the backup codes?

Unfortunately, without the backup codes you won't be able to access the panel.

Try contacting support.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

If another admin has access, they can UNLOCK your account from the Meraki Dashboard - not likely from the mobile app.

If that doesn't work, then they can re-create your account being an alternate option.

I believe you'd have to turn off organization wide 2FA just for one person's account.

If another admin delete my user from the organization where the 2FA is activated, this only delete my user from that organization but no from the other organization right???

If you have registered an Meraki account, 2FA settings are stored in this account. Nobody else, than yourself, can change the settings.

Two-Factor Authentication has a section that might be of interest to you:

It depends. If you have registered an Meraki account, 2FA settings are stored in this account. Nobody else, than yourself, can change the settings.

If you were added by e-mail address to the organization and you have not created a Meraki account, another org admin can delete you from the org and then add you again. Your 2FA settings will be resetted.
