vMX says has never connected

I configured a vMX for AWS following the AWS documentation. Spun up an EC2 instance and generated a key. It is in a security group to allow all traffic in and out but still says it has never connected. I rebooted the instance and still the same thing. What am I missing?

NVM I found the answer in another post. If you have a vMX -L a c5-large won't work. You have to have a c5.xlarge.
