connecting MG21E to two MX

Hello,

I got my first MG21, and I am wondering how to connect to the network.

The Idea was to use the MG21 as an backup WAN connection.

So I wanted to connect the MG to both MX at WAN2 port. But the MXes don´t offer PoE at the WAN ports. Do I really need an PoE injector or an power supply, Or can I connect the PoE port of the MG21 to an PoE port of the MS-Switches? Creating an VLAN and connect the MX to the same VLAN. So I have got the power-supply and the connection to the MX.

Any ideas?

Thank you

These are basically the two options you have. I've connected them via MS within a dedicated Vlan and it works flawlessly. On the other hand, it creates another single point of failure... 😞

Here to help

Can I have more details about the architecture you've adopted? More details about configuration on the MX side?

Can I connect my MG21 in one of the ports in the a room without connecting it directly to the MS?

Thank you before hand.

I've been including a PoE injector for the MGs I've been selling.
