Hi, Thanks for your help on this ! Indeed @sveima my bad its a multimode ! But the issue is still the same. So i finally switched it for a duplex multimode, but indeed i think @K2_Josh is right, i need to use a 3rd party converter or something like this, because all the simplex SFP i tried failed to work. Thanks again !

Hi, Thanks for your message. I'd already had a chance to look at the documentation, and it's precisely because I see that there's nothing in simplex on this one that I'm wondering. For all the "meraki" simplex SFPs you can find on google, I know that the commercial side often outweighs the functional, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were sold as compatible without having been tested. Especially since there's nothing on "meraki with simplex" subject either on the forum or on other sites. That's why I'm asking, via this post, if anyone has already tried this out. As for the link test, I did a laser test to make sure of its condition, and it was positive. I also tested with 2 different types of SFPs to make sure they're still working, but the fact that they're recognized by Meraki gives me somes clues. Sadly i don't have any non-meraki cisco switches with SFP ports available to test them more. Thanks !

Hello ! I'm looking to connect 2 meraki switches located on 2 separate sites using an already pulled fiber, so I'm connecting to a fiber panel, I don't have a choice of fiber type. This fiber is a Multimode SC Simplex, which means it has only one port, as opposed to the usual 2 on a duplex fiber (more common). It then connects to the meraki switch using a simplex SFP, which has just one port. The one I use looks like this: And it will juste connect like this: The ones i use are CISCOSOLIDOPTICS GLC-BX-U20-SO. I have the same 2 SFP models on the 2 switches, but despite this, I can't establish communication. Meraki recognizes the SFP, as you can see here: I wonder if it's a question of SFP compatibility, or if I've simply failed somewhere? If you have any references for simplex SFPs that work on Meraki, i take ! Thank you!

Meraki, seriously... We are 4 years after the creation of this post, companies are migrating more and more to Hybrid cloud or even full cloud, Meraki is supposed to be an actor of this transition, and yet! Still no simple integration with AzureAD to make a simple SSID login page. It's crazy that in 4 years of discussion and suggestions, the only workaround is to use google oauth with workplace connected to azuread, which is clearly far from optimized and practical for users. You're supposed to be a dynamic cloud actor who keeps up with the latest developments / techs and that's just one of the many points showing that you're having trouble following this status.

Hello, For the futur users reading this, the solution (click splash with custom link) is not secure at all. cf: https://community.meraki.com/t5/Wireless-LAN/Splash-page-vulnerability-when-hosting-a-custom-one/m-p/196326#M26642 You can bypass the page with a simple link. Thanks.

Hello, I'm opening this post to let you know about a flaw that has existed for some time in Meraki's custom splash page system. First, for context, our need is to use a splash page hosted on our servers that queries a login system of our own and then authorizes or not the user with Meraki. My system was working perfectly until I realized something quite crazy when I looked a little deeper into how Meraki works with authorization. When a client connects, it is redirected to the splash page, and Meraki provides a "base_grant_url" which is simply used to validate the connection. So when my system has validated that the user is authorized to connect, it redirects the user to the "base_grant_url" provided by meraki, and here he is in my network. Except that this "base grant url" has no token, no system to protect the validation request, it's simply the following link: "https://nXX.network-auth.com/splash/grant" where the "XX" is simply your meraki sub-domain. So, to sum up, a random user tries to connect to your network protected by custom splash page, enters the url "https://nXX.network-auth.com/splash/grant" in his browser and is connected to my network and authorized! If we take a step back on the subject, meraki doesn't hide from it, on the official documentation for the custom splash page they even provide the url, except that because of this, it's impossible to make a custom splash page with an authentication system. When I see all the companies with meraki that use splash page providers and are able to be bypassed with a simple link, and I see meraki's response is "We're aware of this and have no plans to change it", I feel like I'm dreaming. I noticed that there had already been posts on the subject exactly 6 years ago, and that nothing has moved since... I hope this post can potentially give me some ideas to get around this, or even get meraki to add a new type of authorization for its splash pages, who knows? Thanks !
