The customer is using that to some extent today.  Cell coverage is bad in most of the buildings as the iPads need to operate 2-3 stories underground. ... View more

Thanks, in both remote buildings I'll have indoor APs (MR52 I believe) connected to a L3 switch as well as the MR74 on the roof of the buildings.  The center building will have (2) MR74s, one point to the gateway, one pointed to the remote building.  I'm not too worried about bandwidth, there will only be 1 or 2 iPads in use at each location used to enter electrical meter readings in a industrial control room a couple times a day. ... MESH and Multi Hop

I have a requirement to extend a LAN via MESH to a couple buildings, one building I have line of site from the gateway AP and one building that I do not have line of site to.  The building I do have LOS to sits between the gateway and the    remote non LOS building. Distance is approximately 500 feet between buildings.  Am I able to put (2) MESH APs on the middle building, one pointing to the gateway AP and one pointing to the remote building?  Would these need to be connected via a switch in the middle building? ... The buildings that I am trying to connect are up to 900 feet apart. I plan on using patch/sector for the long building-building links.  I need to then get wifi into the inside of the buildings.  Some are small 1 room buildings, some are larger multi floor buildings with a basement.  I'll probably have to use a switch and multiple indoor APs in the larger buildings, but hoping to cover the smaller buildings with the MR84 on the roof.  Would the MR74 be a better choice? ... Great information!  I am going to be doing a design to extend wifi coverage into unmanned buildings through out their campus for a particular customer.  This will require pt-pt from the root side AP out to the remote buildings.  I was considering using a MR84 with either a patch or sector antenna for back haul to the root AP on (2) of the AP ports and use omni to serve clients on the bottom (2) AP ports.  Sounds like this will not be a valid design.  Is extending the Ethernet of the non-root AP on the roof down into the building and using an indoor AP a valid design? ... The routers belong to Verizon, I'll check and see if they could do PBR for us.  We currently have (2) MX's in the network for failover, could I add a 3rd MX to the Network and terminate the MPLS on the 2 WAN interfaces and route based on source address to WAN1 or WAN2? ... View more

Thanks for the response however I am not using the MX WAN connections, they are for redundant Internet connections.  I am accessing the data center via private MPLS circuits terminated on 2 routers. I will have static routes pointing to Host A with a next hop of the router interface. ... View more

Network consists of a pair of MX250 security appliances in HA for Internet access with a stack of (4)MS250 switches as a core. with multiple user VLANs configured.   We are bringing up a pair of routers to a remote data center, one router is a 20MB WAN and the other router is a 200MB WAN. The routers will connect to the core switch each with their own /30 layer 3 subnet.  Local clients on VLAN A and VLAN  B will be accessing Host C in the remote data center.  There is a requirement that users in VLAN A access Host C via the 20MB circuit and users in VLAN B access Host C via the 200Mb circuit.  I believe I need to to policy based routing to accomplish this.  Can the MS250 or the MX250 do policy based routing or is their another trick to accomplish this? ... Yes, I have a WAN IP and a public routed network.  Thanks, this is one option.  I was hoping to do it through software and not buy more hardware though. ... View more

Doing a 1:1 NAT isn't going to scale for an enterprise network.   I need to be able to do something like this, LAN IP= 10.33.0.0/16 PUBLIC IP = X.48.243.195.  I have approximately 10 internal networks of various sizes. ... View more

Is there a way to NAT outbound traffic on an MX to one of my public addresses and not the IP address of the MX itself?  I just replaced a SonicWall firewall where this was configured.  Using the MX interface address has broken some of the applications that were previously using the public address.  For some reason the MX interface address is being recognized as out of the country. ...
