Re: Additional RMA Service Costs When Purchasing Equipment

the last RMA we did on an MS390 that was DOA (would not power up after a beta firmware install for ETA /Stealthwatch) took 5 total days to receive that shipped by FedEX Overnight - that was a call on Friday night to support then shipped out to us on Tuesday...  our Sales Rep told us if you buy "Meraki Now" they allocate a specific number of that Hardware Model for RMA to that program vs Warranty RMA..  meaning if an item like MR56 is backordered for Warranty replacement - there is inventory for Meraki Now customers...  (we were looking at 8x5:NBD HW only)  this was only verbal - never saw it in writing  ... Meraki Releases WIFI 6E AP MR57 is MR56 actually a Faster AP ?

Just saw this on the website MR57 (cisco.com) it is listed as 4x4:4 MU-MiMO    5Ghz & 6Ghz are  2.4Mbps 4 stream /80Mhz  and 2.4Ghz is 574Mbps 4stream /80Mhz with dual 2.5Gb ethernet ports. why 2 ports? and can this be bonded into a 5Gb using LAG/LACP on the switch for any increased throughput?. or is this active/standby in case one ethernet port goes bad or one port is for POE the other for data?.    the MR56 is 4.804Mbps 8 stream/160Mhz  and 2.5Ghz is 1.147Mbs 4/40Mhz single 5Gb MGig port.. While I agree most clients are 2x2 or 3x3 but the advantage of the MR56 being 8x8:8 is an additional 3db gain. that the MR57 is missing..  in terms of 6Ghz vs 5Ghz is 6 technically shorter range? While there are more channels in 6Ghz & very few  clients currently - Even if we upgraded all our laptops to WIFI 6E  today...  when we run InSSIDer there is no overlapping 5Ghz channel interference from other businesses in our area it's the 2.4Ghz that is congested  so would the MR56 be faster even in the 2.4Ghz range and could handle more clients then the MR57 or am i mistaken? (574Mbps on the MR57 vs 1.45Mbps on the MR56)   so I am trying to figure out what the advantage of MR57 vs MR56 - or if the real replacement  for MR56 would be a new AP like MR59 (MR58 is a discontinued 802.11n model) that supports 8x8:8 160Mhz WIFI 6E for dozens of 2x2 & 3x3  5 & 6Ghz clients.. due to the 3db gain ... Re: how can i use 10g on 40g 450 switches

some quick notes on the MS450 with 10G/40G connections on what "works" & "broken" with the latest Beta 15.4 Firmware...  We can connect MS450 to MX95 via 10G using 3rd party 10G SR modules  and the Cisco CVR-QSFP-SFP10G 40G adapter - no problems... (many 3rd party 40G/10G converter modules failed - thankfully we found a Cisco Refresh version of the adapter module but still expensive)..  MS450 to Mellanox NIC with 40G Direct attach 3rd party also works fine..   What is "broken" is trying to link MS450 to MS390 via 40G module (MA-MOD-2X40G) using a Meraki 40G cable MA-CBL-40G-1M no lights nothing... Direct attached cable should work... Support couldn't resolve... the only workaround is to buy two 40G SR-BD modules and your own OM4 Cable which is crazy /expensive  if you only need 1/2 to 1 Meter uplink.. between two switches..   Regarding the MS390 40G to MX95 10G link above even with Meraki SR Modules if you unplug either module and plug back in the Green light comes back on but you cannot ping the other side unless you reboot the MS390 and MX95 - so I think the MA-MOD-2X40G module has some issues on the MS390 ...
