Application of a Data Cap on Meraki MX link or MG

Hi,   Is there a way to apply a data cap on one of the WAN links on a Meraki MX or MG. Basically we are proposing a SD-WAN solution, which will use a broadband primary circuit and a 4G Secondary, via a MG (might have to use the customers existing gateway).   On a normal day it is expected that both links will used to carry traffic. However the 4G link has a monthly allowance, that based on analysis of use, shouldn't be exceeded.   Is there a way of either monitoring and alerting on the usage of the 4G link, at say 80% or applying a cap an alerting?   I can't see it on the dashboard for the MX and don't have visibility of an MG to check.   ... Yes, I agree It sounds like Cisco Umbrella, not Meraki MX. So begs the question why is it in a Meraki MX data sheet? or why isn't it clearly referenced as being an Umbrella Service that you can hook the MX up to for these services. Upsell the value of the Umbrella service upfront.    ... View more

This link makes it look like Meraki does support DLP or is that through one of the many cloud subcription Bolt-ons that you can add? https://meraki.cisco.com/product-collateral/mx-family-datasheet/?file   ... View more

So are Meraki still supporting HTTPS packet inspection? Is this still only available in Beta or is the being dropped in favor of directing HTTPS inspection to Cisco Umbrella Subscription service? ... View more

Hi Philip,   I have tried to follow the link you have provided, however, it's asking for a login that I don't appear to have.   My CCO login, Meraki Partner and Meraki Dashboard log in don't seem to be accepted.   Is this information stored in another loaction? ... View more

Hi,    Does the vMX in azure have firewall functionality enabled, as it can only operate in Single Armed Concentrator mode (L2)?   https://documentation.meraki.com/MX/MX_Installation_Guides/vMX_Setup_Guide_for_Microsoft_Azure https://documentation.meraki.com/MX/Networks_and_Routing/MX_Addressing_and_VLANs   In the Physical form of MX when in concentrator mode you need another MX sitting infront in Routed mode to provide Firewall Services.     ... Meraki Z Series in a MX Advanced Security Environment

I am currently designing a MX Environment that will make use of the features in the Advanced Security Licence. Specifically the following: URL Content Filtering Intrusion Prevention Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) with Threat Grid support Layer 7 Geo-IP Firewall Rules. I believe that you can't have an MX customer environment where you are using both Enterprise an Advanced Security Licences. However the customer has asked for an alternative device to the MX for sites with 1-2 users, where the MX64 is seen as providing over capacity. We are considering the Z series for these site types, however we have noticed that the Advanced Security Licence is not available. I have looked into this a little, and have seen discussions that say you can mix the Z Series with an Enterprise Licence in a customer environment that is also using the MX Appliances with Advanced Security Licences. Firstly is this correct, can you mix the Z Series and MX with Sec Licences? Secondly, if you can mix them, do you loose the support for URL Content Filtering Intrusion Prevention Advanced Malware Protection and Layer 7 Geo-IP Firewall Rules on the Z Series? ... View more

Hi,   I would like to know what or if there are any limitations of use the built in wireless (Wi-Fi) on the MX64W are opposed to using a stand alone dedicated Meraki AP.   We have a customer where some of there sites are very small and having a sperate AP will be too messy and more costly.    Are there any gotchas to be aware of? ... Re: vMX100 in Azure Active/ Warm Standby

I did get a response back from Cisco TAC over the weekend, where it looks like there is an more expense way of providing some HA capability.   "In regards to the vMX100 specifically, there is no formal HA support within the product itself. There are a few different ways that you can accomplish a HA-type deployment using routing and other capabilities within Azure, but but's not a classic HA deployment like we have with physical MX appliances (or ASAs). The vMX100's are fairly limited in their capabilities and for the most part limited to one-arm VPN Concentrator type deployments. From a licensing perspective, if you were to deploy two vMX100's in Azure, regardless of how you set them up, you would pay for each vMX100 license. We do not offer any HA licensing model for two vMX100's, each vMX100 spun up and deployed is licensed separately"   Active/ Active only not Warm Standby and I would need to licence both MX's.   Thanks for you help. ...
