Wow! Long thread. Had very similar symptoms.   My problems started after noticing that one of our SSID had legacy WPA authentication configured. Changed it to WPA2/WPA3 but that forced users to reauthenticate and flooded the support desk. Word to the wise, always send a notice first...cuz users.   Anyways, I've put the settings back were they were and all came back as before, except for a few clients experiencing the occasional disconnect or not being able to connect with their cell phones.   However, I had forgotten to put back ONE settings that, at the time, I thought, hey, let's try that...   802.11w https://documentation.meraki.com/MR/WiFi_Basics_and_Best_Practices/802.11w_Management_Frame_Protection_MFP Had left it enabled. According to the docs it's supporting iBeacon specifically. No mention of EddyStone, but a software update may very well add it in the future.   RFID tags are very cheap, and are passive so they don't require a battery, but they have a very short range, that's why the big antenna panels are needed near the exits.   BLE beacons on the other hand will be more expensive and have a limited battery life, they do have more range.   I'm afraid that for those reasons, for your use case, BLE may not be the right choice.   If you do decide to go forward with it, you'll need 3rd party software (a server) to interpret the data from the scanning API. No need for separate BLE readers. The APs can track the location of tags.    The scanning API also has a delay, which makes it even less suitable for anti-theft purposes, by the time 3rd party software receives the information from the scanning API, the thief will likely be long gone. ... We have noticed that even though the Bluetooth devices are showing in the Meraki dashboard, some are not showing up in the raw data.  We have also noticed that Meraki is very selective which devices it detects as well. Some IOS and Android devices are detected while others aren't. The same goes for headphones as well. We have a well-controlled testbed where we are able to isolate devices and we have also used various beacon tools to verify that the devices are broadcasting. Any Ideas? ... View more

I'm assuming the Wireless hardware will be very similar in both units, but you must remember that the MR30H has a switch built into it, which will ultimately consume CPU and hardware resources.   It also has to load the Meraki Configuration for the switch onto the RAM.   If you do not need the switching capabilities of the MR30, choosing the MR33 will ultimately be the best option for wireless clients. ...
