You were right, I was able to turn it on using Hub but would get the attached error if I tried with Spoke. However even with Hub on and both my Client VPN and local LAN enabled for use VPN I could still only ping the client and could not view mDNS or any broadcast and could not resolve nslookup.

I am not able to turn on site to site VPN, as I have no other site to connect it to, just a single location with a single MX68 appliance. The users connecting are using home internet and the built in Mac vpn client and I have enabled Client VPN on the MX68.

Interesting, where would I go to enable this? I believe (could be wrong) that this is on by default as I can ping the users who connect via Client VPN from the server network and vice versa, they can ping the server and the printers and the server can ping them, but broadcast and mDNS do not pass from Client VPN VLAN and local VLAN.

Is it possible for the server running the game locally behind the MX68 to also connect to the VPN, so that both external user and server are on the same VPN VLAN? I tried setting up a connection on the mac server using VPN but it does not connect. I tried with both external domain and MX68 VLAN IP but I get server did not respond. Another thought is I could set the server to a static IP on the VPN VLAN.

I go back to Doom and Quake and started losing my touch by Unreal 🙂 I figured this might be the case, I can set the Meraki Client VPN DNS server but I think this comes down to broadcast or mDNS. The Meraki does have bounjour forwarding but based on what is lists out it seems only applies to the normal VLANs and does not apply to VPN VLAN.

I was able to add 1 printer via IP but the other printer (older model brother) it would fail even with IP. I am not able to nslookup or resolve any of the hostnames.

I have a mac connecting over client VPN using LT2P with the built in macos vpn connection to my MX68. VPN client is not able to browse for printers or browse for network games like minecraft or CIV. VPN client can ping the printers and can ping the minecraft server or CIV server but the local discovery, like scan for printer or scan for games does not find anything. I have nothing being blocked at the firewall. I have the client VPN on mac set to route all traffic over VPN and have set service order so that VPN is top on the list. I have also tried turning on Bonjour forwarding for all options, but did not help. It appears you cannot configure Client VPN to give IPs on the regular LAN but the VLANS are able to communicate with each other just not broadcast which I think might be my issue.

Any updates on this issue? I have been having this problem on my ms-220s and sure enough tried to update to 10.40 tonight and 1 of the 220s hung. It is not easy for me to get to this switch and rebooting the switch never seems to help. this issue has been going for over a year and still happening? Has anyone found a way to fix this remotely?

@PhilipDAth Thanks, I suspect then that with 8 devices, the system could not find 3 channels that worked for all 8. I have now turned on 6 of the 8 APs and left 2 of them off. I had to force 1 AP to go to channel 6 to get the separation I wanted (no circles on the same channel overlapping) and then I set it back to auto and clicked on update auto channels and it keeps wanting to put that AP on 11 which causes the overlap of circles with another AP on 11 very near by. So for now I forced that 1 AP to channel 6 and it seems to be working, no overlapping and no high utilization.

@PhilipDAth Thanks, I actually did have auto power reduction on, see my earlier post screens, but despite that being on for over a month they continued to clobber each other. For kicks I set all power to 7dBm which shrunk the circle a lot, but this actually made things worse, on two APs I was getting 97% utilization and jammed in the utilization column. Must be that 2.4 Ghz despite the power that is too close, even on a different channel 6 vs 1 vs 11 will still cause issues. Since 2.4 spreads so wide having 1 per building seems to cover the same distance but without clobbering the neighbor AP.

I believe I have solved this. I turned off 2.4 Ghz on every other AP, so that 2.4 Ghz was only on in 1 AP per building. So my my Map looks like this And my RF reports looks like this

If I am reading this right, it seems the interference is coming from de:55:3d:c0:8e:6e Which is an open AP on 802.11g, but when I scan through the last 30 days of MACs that MAC is not found. I assume it is a nearby AP? That MAC is running on channel 6, but my AP is on 11, but it is at the top of the interfering APs

Not many clients (only 7). No complaints (yet) I do have bandwidth steering on Thanks for the tip...the only thing I can think of that might be interfering is we have 2 wifi speakers (Wren V5AP) in that building. I am looking into this as a possible cause. Dennis

We have 8 MR52's at the school and all have low or very low utilization except for 1 which is at 72% very high utilization on 2.4Ghz. How do I fix this? All of my APs are set to auto channel.

The chart in Organization > Summary Report seems to be my best option. It does show Download vs Upload and over time as well. Just wished you could make it larger and could adjust the scale (one spike can mess the scale up). Also wished it included Upload instead of Total or had a toggle for Upload, Download and Total.

@WadeAlsup Thanks! I had stumbled across this while looking around and was about to post that this was the closest I had found to showing what I was looking for. It is unfortunate that this is only live data. When the dashboard shows WAN in blue (does this in many areas) is that a total of both upload and download traffic across the WAN or is it upload only?

We are looking to switch our ISP for the school and I am trying to find where I can find details on our internet usage for both upload and download? Currently the school is on 150mbit for Fiber for both upload and download...but the replacement solution is more expensive and I only want to pay for what we actually need. I am having a hard time trying to figure this out in the Meraki dashboard. We have an MX-84 for our security appliance. Any tips on what data I should be looking at to help determine this would be appreciated. Dennis
