I noticed another fact. That Client Description was changed very frequently. I check in the Client List once a hour today, and got different Description string every time I check. This needs to be stopped. according to Meraki support, name was picked by this logic. https://documentation.meraki.com/zGeneral_Administration/Cross-Platform_Content/Rename_a_Client's_Hostname We should given an option to prioritize the way to pick the machine's name.

We have the same issue. but I confirmed, the string that shows up in the Client Description isn't the hardware UUID. the formate is the same as the UUID, but I checked on the MacBook Pro that has this problem, that string doesn't match the Hardware UUID nor the User's UUID. Don't really know where that string coming from.

Let said you have a big Warehouse for storage, the square footage of this big Warehouse is a multiply of 2 (don't ask me why, but that's what it is.) you want to section it out to make multiple smaller storages, so that you can rent to others for good. you only allowed to section each area to half, no matter how big the original area is. Also, by section out the bigger area, you lost 2 square feet for each smaller areas, one square foot for the door, and the other square foot for the wall, luckily, no matter how big the resulting section area is, you only lost 2 square feet each. after you got the right size of the storage area that the customer wants, they can move things in their rental area/storage freely. but if they want to move things outside or to other storage area in your big warehouse, they needs to go thru you first, and you will keep a record of where the things come from, and where should it go. does it make sense?

Hello Everyone, I have a sill question, We have one MX100, and thinking to get an 2nd ISP as backup, when our 1st ISP failed. I read something from here, but which looks like only work for MX250 or above. I am assuming failover to 2nd ISP should work with MX100 as well, when enabling WAN2, and in Traffic Shaping, Set Primary uplink to WAN1. Disabling Load balancing. Can anyone confirm this would be the configuration? or something more needs to be configured? Thanks a lot,

Thank you Mark, I changed the password in "Network wise --> Configure --> General" then it seems start working. not sure why, showing password, and typed that password in doesn't work, even tried copy that password and paste in, still not working. But Changing it did make the change.

Hi Mark, Yes, we only has 1 firewall here, and I verified the IP address is correct. I also tried to plug a cable to the Management port in the physical device, and nothing get me into the portal. thanks,

Hello Everyone, We have a MX100, and are wondering if there is a way to reset the wired.meraki.com. since the one who set it up had left us, and no one else knew what the login credential is. We don't want to do factory reset on this MX100 as well. I have Full Administrator access in Meraki dashboard. I can load the wired.meraki.com page up, which will land me in the Connection tab. But when I try to get in to the Configuration tab, it ask for username and password. I read that the default password is the serial of the device, which I had tried, and not working. I also checked in "custom password set at Network Wide - General - Device configuration" as suggested in the other post here. I checked, and the username and password listed there doesn't work either. Anything that we can do to just reset that password? Thanks,

I guess, we might need to manually tune this AP to higher power. since our CEO is sitting close to that AP, and his connection was having issue. got quite high in Latency. tested from the Meraki portal -> Client, ping. the average latency was over 200ms

Hi Adam, from the Radio Setting screen, it does shows Auto, and that AP1 is showing lower dBm than other APs, others are 20+dBm and that AP1 is showing 15dBm. Thanks,

We have 6 MR53 APs in office, ceiling mounts, all of them are about 11' above the ground. The Office is around 6k square feet. all in 1 floor, has a brink wall in the middle to session out the area. There is 1 AP (let call it AP1) signal seems weaker than other APs, a laptop would still connect to other AP where is was connected to, even the laptop is now right under that AP1. And the signal strength of AP1 showing in my.meraki.com is weaker than all other APs even those were behind the brink session wall. To make the frustration more, if the laptop was turned on around that AP1, then it would connect to AP1 with no problem, and would showing with strong signal. A little more detail on our wifi setting. We are using 802.11ac, Layer 3 roaming, 5GHz only, Minimum bitrate is set to 48Mpbs. We are in a very noisy building. some very strong 802.11n signals are detected from other companies upstair. Anyone has any idea how to trouble shoot this AP issue? Thanks a lot,
