Perhaps call tech support and ask them to check the line? What kind of internet connection is on the HFC modem vs the Service Provider modem? If you have packet loss and the MX works on the optus internet line i would think the problem resides on the side of HFC NBN? Not sure how internet is arranged in Australia? line => Modem => MX ?
