On the netgear side the cable is plugged into a LAN port, on the Meraki MX side it is plugged into the Internet/WAN port.

Blake, the Meraki stack I have is from my Meraki certification training and I use for all my work related activities. The MX64 is limited to only about 200MB of traffic, so I needed something faster connecting to my Arris cable modem which now gives me 500MB of speed. So that is why I went with the Netgear connecting to that and using that for family and friends wireless access. I connected to MX to one of the ports for that so that everything behind the MX stayed the same and kept running. The challenge now is that several of the devices connected to the Meraki now are on the 192.168.128. network while all my wireless and personal stuff is connecting to the Netgear 192.168.1. network. As to your first question, no I have not set up any firewall rules on the MX so far. I am not a strong networking guy (a sales guy at heart) but would be happy to learn more. Pointers to how to do this are greatly appreciated.

Do I recently increased my home network speed to 500MB and my MX64 could no longer give me the speeds to all my devices. I now have a Netgear Nighthawk router with 2 wireless satellites running and giving me great wireless speeds to all my devices. I then plugged my Meraki Stack into the Netgear router and everything works great accept I have a couple devices (printer, storage device) connected to the Meraki Stack that I would like to access via the Netgear connected devices. The Netgear LAN is set up as 192.168.1.x and the Meraki LAN is set to 192.168.128.x. I setup a static route on the netgear to send all 192.168.128.x traffic to the Meraki's IP address, but nothing seems to be getting through. What do I need to do on the Meraki to allow the netgear traffic to pass in and out? Thanks in advance.

No changes on the Meraki side. I have been using it for several weeks with no problems. I did upgrade the ios on the iPhone earlier today, so that might be a problem, although since it works on other SSID and over the carrier network I kind of discount that.

I have AT&T services into my home which also has built in wireless. I have the MX directly connected to the AT&T router, with then the MS connected to the MX, and the MR connected to the MS. The AT&T SSID is still active, and if I connect the iPhone to that, then the video directly downloads. With the iPhone connected to the Meraki, then the video does not. Everything else on the iPhone seems to be working fine connected to the Meraki SSID.

Good idea, but did not work. I did a full reboot of the iPhone and it still hangs. When I select the video in the iPhone-Messages app, it starts to download, but then just hands after the first chunk. Other thoughts welcome.

So I have a CMNA Meraki stack (MX64, MS120-8LP and MR33) all running fine for all my devices at home. Have Cisco IP phones, laptops, printers, tablets and iPhones all running and everything is working fine until today. I recieved a couple videos on the iPhone today via the messages app. When I click on them in the app on the iPhone to download them, they act like the are being blocked. The phone is connected wireless to the MR33 through the switch and the MX. I check in the dashboard and see nothing that would appear to be blocking this, or any events. If I change the wireless to my other SSID not via the Meraki, the video loads right away. Any thoughts on what to check or what I can do to see what is blocking this download?

I am a business development manager/account manager at a Cisco Gold partner. I have been in the Solution Integration business for about 40 years, and still LOVE learning about new technologies. I have been involved with Cisco Meraki for several years, and earlier this year became a CMNA. I currently have my CMNA pack (MX64, MS120-8LP and a MR33) running my home network. I am glad to be both selling and using the Meraki stack. Fun fact, I continue to play guitar and run sound on a periodic basis at my church.
